I have read that mfg has moved to China and the fit and performance of the Sundowner is not what it used to be can anyone comment on this and suggest an alternative. My Sundowners are 15 years old and while their still feel and work great they are showing their age.

It is sadly not - however they are still a great boot for what they are. You may wish to try to get your current pair repaired - find a good cobbler. Another reviewer of these recommended one.
