Is there a difference between the Beta AR and the LT? I'm trying to decide between Beta LT, AR or the Theta SL. I'll be using the jacket for hiking/outdoor activities so a really short jacket would make life a bit difficult. Thanks!

Knowing the abbreviations Arc'Teryx uses is very helpful, as well. Generally speaking, the LTs and SLs are lighter duty jackets, like Paul said. The MX, SV and ARs are heavier fabric and a bit more durable. AR = All Round SL = Super Light SV = SeVere weather MX = MiXed weather LT = LighT weight SK = Ski Touring

Beta's are the shortest cut jackets in the arc Ascent lineup, whereas the Thetas are the longest. As for the differences between the Beta AR and LT- The face fabrics are different (LT like its name suggests uses a lighter or thinner denier Nylon) as well as the LT is a bit more streamlined in its features. Sounds like you should pick up a Theta (AR or the SL). good luck
