Horse Thief or Horse Thief SL?
I am new to BA bags. I see that there is a Horse Thief and a Horse Thief SL. What is the difference? Does the Horse Thief have the half pad sleeve or is that just in the SL? I would like to use my 3/4 pad but not if the bottom 1/3 is not insulated and I like having my feet free to move around; not being secured to a pad. Is the regular Horse Thief like that or is that just in the new SL model?

Sean, Jeremy was mostly correct but the new 2011 Horsehief SL does have what your looking for it has a half sleeve and the lower half has traditional constrution( has insulation on the bottom) We did do this for exactly what you said so you can move your feet around.. but alos still keep that pad in place so you wnt slide off. This is the case for all Big Agne Divide series bags for 2011.

You need a full pad on all big ag bags - otherwise, you will be sleeping with your feet unprotected and when its gets chilly out, not only will your feet be cold, but so will the rest of you as there will be extra room and no "draft collar" to keep all the cold from the ground out of the rest of your bag. These bags have no insulation on the bottom. If weight is a consideration, look at the new thermarest pad. The SL is the newer model with improved baffles to keep the down from bunching up.
