I would think a more accurate weigh in / opinion would could only be had with knowing what else you plan to use them for - if anything. They will do the job for Rainier. These will not accept step in type crampon - my recommendation if you don't go with a boot with a front welt is a Black Diamond Sabertooth crampon w/ a hybrid binding. http://www.backcountry.com/black-diamond-sabretooth-clip-crampons
