By kin2434393 on September 22, 2008

I've got a 600 warmnlight too, and it needs washing. Can I do it in a washing machine?

I have my down bags professionally cleaned. More costly but well worth it. If you must wash your bag at home, use ONLY a front loading washer, on the gentlest setting, using special down soap. Tumble AIR dry, periodically breaking up the wet clumps of down that will develop. Finish by line drying, preferably outdoors. MAKE SURE NOT TO CARRY YOUR BAG WHEN IT'S WET UNLESS TOTALLY SUPPORTED OR YOU COULD TEAR OUT THE INTERNAL BAFFLES! Wet down is heavy.
