So does this work on a Nalgene (my version of a backcountry mug)? And how does it work? You just put ground coffee into the filter, let it soak for a couple minutes in hot water and you have coffee? Thanks...sorry if I sound like an idiot.

For making coffee in your wide-mouth Nalgene bottle, try this instead. Screws right on, then the Nalgene cap screws onto that. http://www.gsioutdoors.com/products/pdp/h2jo/
