MSR Quick 2 Cooking System
has anyone used one of the plates as a lid for the smaller pan??...

has anyone used one of the plates as a lid for the smaller pan?? is the plastic heat resistant enough?? i have no need to take the bigger pan out with me when packing for my self and wondered if a plate would be the obvious solution

Hi Harry, I don't think it's going to work out using the plate as a lid for the pot when cooking. I've never purposely set out to see if it would melt, but knowing the material and my stoves, I just don't see it. With this and the Base 2, the lid for the larger pot is also designed to fit the smaller pot, although it does hang out a bit, the only real issue being that you have to remove the Talon handle when you stow it.
