I ' 6'0, 230 lbs. - would I go for a Lg. or XL? I'm seriously considering the Stinger - I don't ski yet, but would love to learn. I live in Fla., and was recently laid off my job and may be moving to Seattle area, if job comes through - I'd love to take skiing lessons, but I do camp & backpack. How would this jacket work for those activities? I expect I'd be layering a bit since I'm not acclimated to the cold areas of the country (yet)!
Thanks!

Hey Steve, There's a lifestyle change- same rain, just colder and without the lightning. Check your sleeve length, waist and chest dimensions first, but with your weight and layering requirements, the XL is by far the place to start. I'm 6'-0" and 190, and I wear a large in Arcteryx jackets comfortably. As far as the cross-purposes go- this shell is best suited for snow sports. Arcteryx has a huge line of jackets that would be more appropriate and lighter as 3-season (4-season in Seattle) rain gear for general purposes, camping and backpacking. Have a look at the Alpha series, as it's going to give you more of a versatile range of uses that will cover everything you're bound to encounter. Enjoy!
