As Simon posted, this is a nice jacket and will do what you need it for. A couple other ones to look at are the Patagonia Torrentshell and the Mountain Hardwear Typhoon. All of these jackets are on sale right now and all would suit your needs.

This jacket is lightweight, totally waterproof, fairly durable and about as good as you can get for the price. Precip plus is a PU coating, a jacket with a higher performing laminate (like gore tex) will be more breathable and more expensive.
