First, it should have a tag attached to it with washing instructions. If not, use the product that I have linked. You need to wash this with a front load washer or hand wash, do not toss it into a top loader washer. The agitator will rip it to shreds. Once it is washed try to get as much water as possible out of it and dry on low heat with 4 or 5 tennis balls. Take it out every 10 minutes or so and fluff it by hand. http://www.backcountry.com/nikwax-down-wash
