question. i know this will stand the test of time, however, with all the flying i do, does this rolling beast have the dimensions that will allow it to fly without hassle from the airlines? i'm in an airport about twice a month and none are in the US. should i go with the 85 instead?

Just checked United, AA, Southwest, and Delta/Northwest airlines websites. All state extra fees on top of the $15 for checked bags (with the exception of Southwest) over 50lbs and 62 linear inches. This travel case adds up to 61 linear inches. So long as you keep it under 50lbs, you should be in the clear. Hope this helps.
