Sierra Designs Mountain Meteor 2 Tent 2-Person 4-Season

So maybe a dumb question... but I have a Sierra Designs 3 season tent (meteor light), which i really like. I have been doing several winter trips with that tent since I have owned it. However, i only go out if I know temperatures will be staying above 0F.
How much warmth / weather protection does a 4 season tent REALLY add?
I live in Minnesota and camp the north shore and boundary waters - so temps can really dip to the -20F range with wind and snow. I have a pretty good set of gear, but am wanting to be a little more daring in the weather I set out in.
Is the purchase of a tent like this worth the extra protection - particularly being 'warmer' than a 3 season?

Hey David, Our athlete Eric Larsen just got back from a year long expedition trekking to the North Pole, South Pole and the top of Everest using this tent. It's a solid 4 season tent that withstood temps well below -20 and winds of over 80mph. He's also from Minnesota (and apparently loves the cold!). Not a dumb question at all David. You'll need a four season tent if you are going to camp in areas where snow may accumulate on the tent, such as during a heavy snow storm, or with high winds and blowing/drifting snow that can sneak in through the mesh of a three season tent. Generally, a four season tent is designed with these conditions in mind. At the cost of weight, they add things like covers for mesh windows, extra guy lines, extra tent stakes and beefed up frames, just bring a buddy to help you carry the extra load. A four season tent will bottle in a bit more heat than a three season, especially in colder temps. If I might make a recommendation, try the TNF Mountain 25 tent. I have an eight year old four season TNF tent that has been through everything and I swear by it. You'll save yourself $50 as well as 1 & 1/2 lbs in weight. Happy camping.
