Am I missing something? The specs for this bag and for the synthetic Ultra Lamina 15 are practically identical but there's a $200 price difference. Why would I pay $200 more for the down bag if it's not lighter and more packable?

B-ville. Comparing the Ultralamina 15 and the Spectre 20 is like comparing an Apple to an Orange. The Spectre 20 is, first of all, a waterproof (utilizing the Conduit SL laminate) down bag. The baffles are welded in place creating a completely waterproof shell and we used the finest European Gray 800-fill goose down that we can get our hands on for insulation. The most high quality components available were used to make this bag and the other bags in Mountain Hardwear's Expedition line. These bags are the only ones of their kind on the market and the price tag reflects their quality components and uniqueness in design. The Ultralamina, which is also very unique, was designed to be the perfect companion to the Ultralight Fast-packer out on the AT trail. The Ultralamina 20 degree bag when 'pushed' to colder temps with the help of down jackets and such has no doubt been used in the wintery-est of conditions. All the Ultralamina Bags use extremely light and high quality shell fabrics, are insulated by our proprietary Thermic Micro synthetic insulation, and to avoid cold spots the insulation is anchored in place by strategic welds throughout the body of the bag. They are not waterproof but have a phenomenal DWR that keeps moisture at bay in the most humid snow cave. I hope this info helps to explain the price difference between the two bags. Thanks!
