Looking for a headlamp for a nighttime ski race. Is this bright enough/long distance enough for high-speed running at night? I could work up to the petzl ultra or even the nightrider 700/1400 for max overkill, but the $$$$ get outrageous. I'm looking for a balance of price vs performance (but on snow I don't think I need the night rider??)

For the price, features and capabilities, this or the Myo XP are what you want to get. 140 lumens of pure, cut through the darkness candlepower. With about a 90 meter range, you'll have a hard time out skiing it. Other similar options would be just about anything from Princeton Tec's Apex series, or the Black Diamond Icon.
