Trying to decide between the 169 and 179 Obsethed. I am 5'9" 150 lbs, boot size 26 and an aggressive skier in CO. I won't have a chance to demo before my cat ski trip in BC next month. These will not be my daily drivers and will be used for powder. I would rather have a ski that is responsive in the trees than rock solid at high speed. My daily driver ski is currently a 170cm. I am a little afraid of the 179s because I had a pair of 183 Volkl Katanas (swallow tail) that were a bit too long for me and made the trees too much work. I don't ski switch in the powder and plan to mount Dukes at +2 after reading all the reviews.
Any input

179 for sure. these things can turn on a dime and when in doubt you should always go bigger

With as much rocker as this ski has you shouldn't have any problem maneuvering the 179. It will not ski as long as a cambered ski of equal size. It will definitely handle much easier than the katana's due to the rocker and softer flex. It has the ability to "schmear" turns that make it a good tree ski. I feel like the 169 may leave you wanting on some of the bigger terrain in BC.
