I'm stuck between the 179 and 189, can't demo until my trip in Feb & afraid sizes will sell-out by then. Typically I'd go for the 179, but there is soo much rocker that I'm sure the 189 skis much shorter (more like a 170cm ski)... but maybe I'm wrong. Going to be my west coast daily driver.

5'10", 160lbs, I ski a traditional camber park ski (176cm), maybe -3/4 back from center, Advanced level skier. Not sure if the 189 will be too much, i'd mount it prolly +3 or +4 as recommended.

Any input?

Thanks guys, definately need a ski for playful powder stashs, and not much steep and deep, 179 should be great!

Totally agree there. The ski is built to do what Seth does best, big fat lines. The 189 will definitely be a huge challenge but a great way to progress and build on your skiing. It will be a huge platform to help you ski the steepy deep. Of course with that comes a little less playfulness. Just keep that in mind.

Have you ever skied a ski in a 189? I'm your size and use 189's, but you may want the 179 since you ski a size close to it. The Rocker does give the illusion of skiing shorter, but the tail rocker is not so much on this ski, a hellbent has way more tail rocker and thats when you really notice that shorter skiing feel. The 179 is the most popular size, if your skiing deep snow and open terrain get the 189, if you ski more technical terrain get the 179.
