I am thinking about buying this or The North Face Atlas Triclimate, which one would be warmer? I am moving to Chicago -- the purpose would be for commute mostly, gotta take the lake wind and I don't plan on layering too much underneath (business causal). Can it do it?

I live in atlanta , after the fall and during the winter the weather is really gapping ( all over the place) it can easily be in the teens one week with the sun shining and have snow on the ground and then have the next week been in the mid 40's and have the weekend see temps during the daytime in the upper 60's. I run my husky and malamute twice a day in any weather conditions ( rain , snow or cold) I am looking for a jacket that is athletic to move in and at the same time keeps me warm and is rain-resistant and blocks wind as well as keeps me warm and breathes all at the same time. Any suggestions?

JT, Thanks for your question. The biggest difference between the Tilithium and Atlas triclimates from The North Face is the inner jacket of the system. In the Tilithium you get a Heatseeker (similar to Primaloft) inner jacket versus 200 weight fleece inner jacket in the Atlas. For warmth I would choose the Tilithium with the Heatseeker inner jacket. It is overall a better jacket and the synthetic insulation will also be more thermally efficient than fleece should you get wet. If you are looking for something to combat the wind in Chicago you might also consider the Windwall triclimate. I hope this is helpful for you.
