I'm going to Philmont Scout Camp in Augusr for a 10 day trek. Is this a good bag for backpacking? The temp at night droups to around 40-50 degress. It looks like it would be light enough.

This bag should work out great for you. At 1lb 14oz the weights is nice and light, and it stuffs down to 7 x 5 inch, so it will pack nicely. As some others here have mentioned, it's a roomy and warm sleeping bag, with the down fill on 3 sides. You'll need a sleeping pad for under you, and if it's around 20 inches wide or less it fits into the built in pad holder so you wont roll off it in your sleep. Have fun at Philmont!
