I'm trying to choose a nice warm fleece, has anyone compared this to the Patagonia R4 Fleece?

If you're comparing the two, you might want to look at the arc Hyllus fleece line - a real combo btw jacket and fleece that has some wind and water blocking power mixed with hi loft fleece on the inside. Not as warm as the R4, but more versatile, especially for in-action

The Arc'teryx Delta SV and Pat R4 are really quite different. The Delta SV is really warm when worn under a shell, but still breathes great so you don't get overheated if you are moving, and feels very light. R4 has wind resistance, so it's warmer by it's self, but won't breathe very well under a shell and is more bulky. The Delta SV won't block wind on it's own, and neither have great snow shedding.
