Hey does anyone know if you can sit on this helmet? Or is that not a good idea?

My vote is with the bad idea crowd. Get yourself an old z-rest (or similar) close celled foam sleeping pad and cut a small square. This makes a great little seat that is light enough to go where ever. Then you can keep that helmit where it belongs - On your head.

To add to the previous answer - I agree its a bad idea, primarily because this helmet, with its closed cell foam, is designed to really only take a single large impact. How large that impact is and the effect it'll have on the foam for future protection is debatable. So while you should certainly not sit on this helmet, you should also be cautious about how you pack it - ie compressing it too much in a backpack or other place. One alternative to this is the petzl ecrin roc climbing helmet. Its heavier and doesn't have the foam and is more durable. Hope this helps!

I would not recommend that at all. Its best to just leave this for head protection.
