Looking at the loops sewn on the side...has anyone tested their duability? I'm looking to use this as a food bag and will need to hang it. Anyone have any idea how well the loops will hold up under weight? Will be packing food for two on a three day trip.

Although the straps are very strong and secure if you want to ensure no tugging of the seams then try this. Wrap the rope around the whole bag and through the loops. This way the rope is holding the entire bag and not just the loops, but the loop keeps the rope from rolling off the bag. I have lots of these bags straps to my motorcycles this way and they hold fine at 80mph and I don't have to worry about the bags slipping.

I have a couple of these, mostly 10L sizes but a few other ones too. I feel more than confident using the side loops for any sort of lashing. The stitching would certainly hold the weight of the contents, but it would probably fail if you took a stumble where your bag caught a branch and tore off as you fell (or something similar).

hey johnson145, I have used the same 15L OR dry bag to hang my food on three Appalachian Trail tru-hikes. The bottom strap works great to hang the bag.

I think the loops should hold for you fine. I've used the loops to carry them and have clipped it onto a backpack and they have held up fine. I've never hung one but if it will hold attached to a backpack there is no reason it won't hold while hanging.
