Does anyone know if this backpack is weather-proof? Specifically, just trying to keep my expensive textbooks and laptop dry when walking in the rain/snow on campus. Thanks!

Hi Christa, No TNF packs are not technically claimed as waterproof packs... however I have one and I used a waterproof spray sold on backcountry(http://www.backcountry.com/nikwax-tx-direct-spray-on). I fully trust my pack to now keep my laptop dry in most conditions... now I have not tested it in a downpour more than a 5-10min span... but This combo is a very good one, plus the bonus is that you can reapply the spray as often as needed

I think your best bet would be to buy a separate rain cover for the pack. The pack itself is not weather/water proof, but with a good cover you should be fine.

I can not find anything saying that its weather proof like rain proof...I know you can buy sprays that will waterproof polyester just like you waterproof a tent. If it doesn't work then you can always return the product...100% satisfaction
