Thinking of buying this, looking for a eVent jacket, after spending a winter in a patagucci shell where it actually would snow inside the jacket, coating my fleece in snow. Sweat, wouldn't breath, condenses, snows inside jacket. Primary use will be tour ice skating and skiing w/ a kitewing, meaning I'll be regularly seeing apparent winds of 50-60mph, in well below freezing conditions, while working up a serious sweat. I'm concerned about the hood, is it not practical to wear this jacket w/o the hood pulled up? And also the lack of a powder skirt. What is the bottom hem like? Grip? Adjustments? Thanks!

Laboratory results show Event breathes better than goretex. It doesn`t wet out either, so Event keeps on breathing. I`ll never buy goretex again
