Need help choosing size and color...... Size -- I'm 5'9",...

Need help choosing size and color......
Size -- I'm 5'9", 140 lbs -- long limbs -- I want the coat to be fitted, but I also tend to wear lots of layers --- I'm torn between large and medium based on the reivews....any thoughts?
Color -- how deep brown is the brown - -I tend to prefer and own several black coats, but the idea of the brown, if it's dark, temps me --- trying to decide if I should just play it safe and go for black or take a chance on the brown?

Let me start by saying that I always go with black and never buy anything brown, BUT I debated between the black and the brown and ultimately went with the bitter chocolate brown color, as I felt it had more depth than the black.

I'm the same height/weight as you, 38/27/40. I got a small, and it's perfect for me, but I usually only wear a shirt and sweater underneath it. I got the grey one, so I can't help you with the color question.

Write your answer here...I just received the brown, it is a chocolate color, I am 5'5 and 120 pounds and ordered the medium which goes below my knees and gives me room for layering. The sleeve lenght is perfect for my arms
