5 Questions:
1: Im 5ft 11in, and wonder if the large would be big enough to fit over a pair of fitted but not snug hiking pants?
2: Will they at the same time fit under shell pants like the Arc'teryx Beta AR?
3: The weight is stated as 450, what size is this? What weight is the Large?
4: The material looks somewhat burly, is it really that ligthweight?
5: What zippers are used? YKK Vislon?
5.1: What closure is used for the pockets?

Thank you!

Thank you ErkMD! I found the weight for large on a british site, stated to be 502 grammes, which i think is very nice. I think i'll go for the large as i will mainly be using these to pull over my hiking pants. Im pretty sure these will go to the top of my wishlist and when i get the money for insulated pants, these look like the choice!

Kristoffer.. I own the Rab Microlight Down Jacket (deceivingly light jacket yet incredibly warm). Based on the jacket, I know these are solid pants, however the jacket has down not primaloft (synthetic fill). These pants do use pertex as the nylon shell which is a very strong light material. I suspect they would be perfect under your Beta AR's, but exact sizing I am not sure how their pants run. I am 5'8 155 and a medium top is ideal. I think a large would work but a medium might be better if you're wearing these under something and the tighter they are the warmer you'll be. Likely medium is the size for the 450/16 ounce reference. The zipper is probably not a YKK, I have not had any issues with the zipper on my jacket. These are perfect pants for midlayering in cold conditions under your shell. Rab is breaking into the US market now and I think the good buzz is just beginning, a great company finally getting international recognition.
