Definitely going to want something with insulation and much tougher than a softshell.

It's wet but unlikely there will be much liquid water when it is -25 below zero. You may need a good insulation underwear and a tough pant, may be some heavy weight cotton or nyco (Codura if possible) ones with DWR to shed ice, snow and mud.

they won't keep you warm nor dry after 12 hours. You need waterproof and probably a good synthetic insulation. It also depends on how stationary you are. Additionally if it is -1 to -25 out, are you working with water being pumped up or down otherwise it would seem it is all frozen, thus--you may not even need waterproof pants but wear some thermals (light-medium-or heavy weight) under a solid windproof/softshell pant with or without insulation depending on how heavy of a fleece/thermal long underwear you got. Additionally if you are not just standing around but actually working heavy duty and liable to have your clothes get beat up with tons of dirt, rock, sharp corners of metal, etc., don't even bother forking up $300 for some primo pants--if you are doing that kind of work it will probably tear them up quick, just get some good long underwear and something for ~$100 to last you a few months. you don't want to be worrying about some expensive super pants getting holes and rips when you gotta be working. cheers

Certainly not, these are a lightweight softshell pant for mild weather, you are going to need something much more intense for that type of work.
