How warm is this jacket? Is it a "shell" only or have some insulation in it too? Need it to be warm on the cold CO winter days

it is a three layer shell. This type of jacket cuts wind great, and keeps you dry, and allows body perspiration to escape (again the focus is to keep you dry inside). there is room for layering insulation under the jacket... if you want an insulated one, check out the bombshell insulated, and welder insulated from STOIC
