Hello John, I'm 6'1" and weight about 270 and I where the Gotham jacket in an XL. It fits perfectly even with a sweater on underneath. The jacket runs a little on the bigger side to allow for layering I'm guessing. I have a freind who's in the 300's and he wears an XXL so you should be just fine going with the XL!!!
