Mary, If you look at the photo I just uploaded, It appears there is a lanyard attachment point is just behind the optic. This really is a neat idea for a compass, I like how it includes measurements for 3 different scales.. but I have to point out that it seems to lack meridian lines on the dial. But I digress! I hope this helps.
