My wife and I are camping in the Grand Canyon next month. This looks like an easy to set up, lightweight option for shelter to keep the bugs and critters out. Is this the case?

I would say so - you can't find many shelters like this that are as roomy and easy to put up. At 2 pounds 5 ounces, it's tough to beat on the lightweight scheme of things.
