I really want to get these shoes but am wondering if they would be warm enough to wear during winter...with thick socks maybe?

It depends on the climate. I still wear mine year-round, with or without socks -- but mostly with socks in winter. We get a lot of rain/snow/slush in winter, but because of the shoe's height, I manage to keep the elements out of the shoe. I wouldn't wear them when there is a lot of snow on the ground.
