They have a heavy merino liner in them, and a small amount of primaloft in the back of the hand. They are pretty warm, but pretty dextrous too, so that is always a tradeoff... We backcountry ski in the wasatch, and air temps can be zero, and blowing, hands are still great. but sitting on a lift for a long time, or being pretty still, your hands get cold. this year, the merino wool is thick, and makes the glove feel a little tight out of the bag. size up if you are concerned, and wear them a day to help pack in the liner.
