I'm an advanced skier, 5'10" 165lbs. Ski the east coast 80% of the time (40 days) with a few trips west and to europe each year (~10-12 days). Really need a one ski quiver as I ski everything from bumps and park to steeps and trees all on variable conditions of east coast ice to utah powder. I currently ski an older version of the bridge in a 168 length. It's fine in tight spots but can't hold the edge on harder snow at high speed. My question is, with ELP rocker, how much shorter will the 178 ski than its advertised length? I suspect the 178 is the right ski for me, but not 100% due to the rocker. (In full disclosure, I LOVE the old bridge with the traditional camber. GREAT all around ski...).

Thanks for that. My only concern is in the tight, bumpy trees on the east coast but i hear the rocker makes these very pivotable in tight spots. anyone tried both the bridge's and the new kung fujas and have a view on the comparison?

I have the original bridge in a 185 and also really liked it. I'm getting the new ones in a 187 when they are available. At 5'10, the 179 will be perfect, especially if you plan to ski it in Utah.
