I'm thinking about signing up for the Kayak for a Cause event this summer, but I definitely won't do well in my little Otter. Would this boat be good for going long distances like, say, from Crab Meadow Beach in Long Island to Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk, CT? If not, what would be?

KFAc has 150+ Cayugas they use for the event... mostly 14.6 and 16.0 (146 and 160). The 110 might be a biotshort for the chop in open water of long island sound.
