Can anyone tell me more about this brand? How is their build quality? It's a pretty slick looking jacket, but it's price makes Arc'teryx pieces look like a bargain.

Eider was founded by a tailor in 1962 and they still make their patterns at their headquaters in France; this is apparent in how the jackets fit and the details that go into them. They are big into mountaineering (this piece is from that collection)as well as snowsports. Eider has some of the best quaality, well thought through products out there.

So I ordered the blue size L. I'm 6' 3", 175. It fit nicely width and length wise, but the arms are not made for someone my height. The other purchaser said it fit similar to Arc'teryx soft shells. I would say that is correct,except for the sleeves. I've never had a problem with Arc'teryx sleeves. I always wear size L. These sleeves were 1-2 inches too short. I ordered an XL. I'll post when it arrives. In the meantime, the blue goes back.

The Eider product is the snowsports cousin of the more alpine and mountaineering product you will find from Millet. The finish and build of Eider outerwear is as good as anything you will find out in the market. I hope this is helpful for you. Enjoy.
