Can anyone comment on the water resistance of the shell material, Quantum Pertex? The company's website gives a very subjective answer suggesting more geared towards breathability than water resistance (well so is cotton). Owners out there - any complaints about the material? compared to dwr coatings?
Thanks

Quantum is a really tight weave that will be water resistant in light/short periods of mist and rain. Quantum does not have a membrane so it will not block the rain. Think of quantum as the same material as a very lightweight windshell: ie marmot trail wind or montbell ultralight wind jacket. Dont expect to sit in the rain, but if you spill a drink on the bag, you should be okay if you wipe it up immediately.
