Are these leggings substantial enough to wear on their own without something else covering them? I'm looking for a pair of leggings to wear for Aerial Circus practice (requires durability, breathability, good range of motion and anti-stink properties), but would want something I could wear on its own.

Best stick to Danskin. I wear/workout/run in their black cotton stretch 'compression' tights year round on a daily basis. 'Under Armour' also has cold weather and warm weather compression tights that are my other favs. Go ahead and wear the high waisted or french cut swimsuit or cheerleading bottoms over them so they will be forever secure and comfy in place. This combo makes your legs look trim and long and you will never have to hike up slipping tights. So annoying. Been doing this for a decade now.

I wear mine as both baselayer and leggings under long sweaters and tunics. The thing is, these aren't tight like traditional tights or leggings, so they do bag a little around the knees (no spandex in them). Other than that, I find them to be substantial enough to be worn on their own.
