By Ranked #593 - Men's Ski Jackets October 5, 2010

Can someone help me with the size? I am 5'10", weigh 175 with a chest measurement of 42" and sleeve length about 33". I bought the Patagonia insulated Powder Bowl jacket last year in a medium and it fit me perfectly everywhere except in the pits. The pit zips and pit area was too tight with only a baselayer and light fleece underneath. I tried on a Large at a local retailer, but then it was way big around my body and long in the sleeves. I don't know if this Primo Down is cut differently or will fit the same as the Powder Bowl jacket does.

Milwaukeehaze, thanks for your question. Both the Primo Down and Insulated Powder Bowl jacket come from Patagonia's snow line. This being said the feature very similar fit blocks. Regarding the Primo, the insulation package on this jacket is outstanding. You really should only need to wear a next to skin garment and this jacket to be perfectly comfortable in even the coldest temps. Keep that in mind when looking at this jacket versus the Insulated Powder Bowl jacket. Based on your dimensions I would probably go with a size large. I hope this is helpful for you. Pray for snow.
