I tentatively disagree. I bought this pack in a medium for my black lab/golden mix puppy "to grow into", but it ended up being baggy on her full-grown frame (60lbs). I then bought a size small and she did great with that for a couple years until her metabolism slowed a little (65lbs); then the chest/under-arm strap became a little too tight. She is 68lbs right now and still wearing the small (because her medium ripped), but we are back to looking for a size medium on sale. Delilah is a "tall"/slender dog though - not the usual barrel-chested lab - and a fuller-framed dog could well grow into a size large. In the photo, my dog (65lbs) is wearing a red size medium pack in the previous model version; my friend's dog (55lbs) is wearing her green size small pack.

Get the large. I was in the same situation with my girl & before I knew it, she grew into the larger size, plus she will also be able to carry more.
