How waterproof is it? I guess more specifically, can it handle salt spray or can anyone think of a good way to protect it. I do a lot of work out of small skiffs in the ocean and was thinking about mounting this up on the bow...

The POV.1 is rated for a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes. We recommend that when you use it in a salt water environment that you protect the recording unit, and that you cover the microphone on the AV cable, usually with something like water proof tape or silicone glue. The best cover for the recorder that I have seen so far is the Big Wave pouch for the recorder.
