Write your question here...Heading to Antarctica in December and will be out on the continent and then hopefully doing a little guided mountaineering. Would these pants hold up and will they block the wind? Not to worried about insulating properties just destructability.

No they will not! i tore a quarter size hole in mine glissading down Queest Alb glacier in the North Cascades. these are bottom of the line NF rain pants. For Antartica, step up out of propietary in house gear and get gore-tex.

These pants are made out of a ripstop fabric that will keep them going strong outside of a very extreme tumble through a scree field, and lots of broken glass.
