Struggling between the 190 and 197 length. 6-2 @ 195 lbs. Aggressive skier, but like to keep my feet on the ground these days. Coming off the Nordica Blower 193. Traditionally like big stiff skies. Anyone skiing the 197? Does the rocker design ski shorter then the actual length?

If you are doing much turing or in tight trees go for the 190.

The 197 is huge. My husband is 6'4" 200lbs. He was convinced that he needed the 197. After a season of throwing the ski around, he bought a 190. The 190 is plenty of ski for most resorts. If you are headed to Alaska, maybe consider the 197. Or if you only want to go straight, go for the 197. Otherwise, I would suggest the 190.

i'm an inch shorter and 10 pounds lighter than you. i skied the 190 last season and really liked it. To answer your question on length. yes the rocker does make the ski seem a little shorter on the hard back. it skis more like a184, but in the powder(were it matters)it skis just as long as a traditional 190, but floats even better. if you are only skiing it on only powder days, i would maybe think about the 197, but i think the 190 would be better. i had a metal binding on the ski and the set up is not light. that 197 will be the heaviest ski you have ever owned.
