Samuel- If you plan to use the Revolution tight as an external layer for Running in colder weather for example, they will be too cold. In terms of thermal properties, they are a little thinner and cooler than the Coolmax version of the tights. The CW-X Revolution Tight is perfect for early fall running where it's cold in the shadows but warm in the sun. For use below 40 degrees, I would recommend the Insulated line of CW-X tights. Or you can layer the Revolution tights under a pair of Wind blocking pants. That would still give you the support of the tight, but will protect you from colder weather.

Not specifically, In really cold weather, it could work as a layer. But It's actually 14% lighter than other tights. For cold weather, CW-X has their Insulator line, that may interest you more.
