Why doesn't this board cost as much as the other SUP boards? is the material? what the difference between this board with the soft top and the other boards?

Two fold. From what I can tell, this model is no longer being made. Secondly, softtops are generally regarded as entry level. The board will do everything other boards listed on backcountry.com will do. It's a steal at this price and at 12 ft, could float just about anyone. EDIT to the above: If this board is 26 inches wide, it will tip easier than most boards.

I guess the same reason a C class Mercedes is still a good car but it's not the SLS we all really want.
