I found that the shorts rode up while I was trying to do athletic activities besides running...so during biking and lifting weights, they definitely ended up in little rolls.

The inseam is 3 inches long, so from you would measure that from your crotch down, they are pretty short, with the skirt I would add about 1/2". They may also ride up, shorts that are shorter rather than longer tend to do that.
