These actually fit pretty well. The I/O goggles are designed to fit seamlessly with the line of helmets that Smith produces (namely the Holt or the Hustle). But, if you have a Trace helmet, you shouldn't have any problems with product integration.

Yeah it would work just fine. The Trace is suited for goggles nicely, and the I/O fits a large portion of helmets on the market today.
