do you have to wear a bottom base layer or tights underneath of these? how is the fit...athletic/tight or baggy?

The inner lining is not so much an insulator but more of a way to move moisture away from your body and feel more comfortable. This is not an insulated pant, you would need to layer, Mountain Hardwear makes some awesome layers too. They're fitted, slightly athletic, not hipster tight or thug baggy. Knees are articulated, so you can move in them without noticing them. Durable? Mountain Hardwear's Ascent Micro Herringbone AXF is ready for whatever you got buster. Size: S(30) M(32-34) L(36-38) XL(40-42) 2XL(44) inseam: 32". Made in China.
