A Question about Outdoor Research Advanced Bivy

I'm not familiar with bivy shelters. Do you still need to carry a sleeping bag, or is this a kind of tent and sleeping bag all in one?

There's no insulation in a bivy sack. It's just a very small & compressible, minimalist shelter.

You will need a sleeping bag or a sleeping system of some kind.
