I just tried on the North Face Venture jacket at a local store...

I just tried on the North Face Venture jacket at a local store and loved it very light and seemed well constructed but I am still looking for a good value buy. This seems like a good jacket as well but can't find the weight anywhere. Is it light/breathable does anyone know the weight? The North Face jacket is only 379g

The facts - This will weigh a bit over an ounce more. The smarty-pants answer (and I mean this purely in jest)- that add'l weight is from the savings filling the pockets.

i own the venture jacket. while it's light, it's not nearly as light as my GoLite rain shell. i think i saved over 4 oz with my Golite. columbia gear isn't generally a minimalist design.
