The seams are not taped on the microlight. It will keep you dry in a light rain. If you're expecting a down pour, I'd recommend taking a look at the Sierra Designs Hurricane: http://www.backcountry.com/outdoorgear/Sierra-Designs-Hurricane-Jacket-Womens/SDS0323M.html it's waterproof, breathable and fully seam sealed.
